PETITION: No illegal referendum in Mayotte, occupied territory!
Petition to ladies and gentlemen. Javier Solana, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, Danuta Hbner, Louis Michel and members of the European Parliament
France intends to organize the 29 March 2009 Maor (Mayotte) a referendum on the departmentalization of the community overseas, after which France intends to make access to the status of the outermost regions (ORs) of the Union Europe.
Summit in Addis Ababa in January 2009, the 53 countries of the African Union have agreed to condemn once again the referendum and the registration of Mayotte in the French constitution.
Besides France, the EU countries have adopted almost all the twenty UN resolutions as recognizing Mayotte Comoros, and strongly condemning France since 1975.
We ask the European Union bodies, governments and elected representatives of member countries to require the French government that respects international law and UN resolutions in:
- Repealing the illegal referendum of March 29,
- Repealing the visa Balladur in 1995,
- And opening up real negotiations under the arbitration of international forums for the return of Maori to the Union of Comoros.
